%Hypo < 5% is considered normal.
Two different criteria, more specifically, %Hypo > 5% and >10% have been used. %
Hypo > 10%, has been more commonly used for defining absolute iron deficiency and functional iron deficiency..
Hi, I've had a PV diagnose in march of this year and had 12 phlebotomies (which lead to very low iron levels). Because I am very tired now (and also losing a lot of hair), my MPN-specialist decided to give me iron supplements (knowing it is a counterindication) but with close follow up the next two months. If I am starting to feel better, I can't have phlebotomies anymore and wil have to take medication instead. Is this an answer to your question? Take care.
Thanks. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and I have had over 65 venesections, been on 135 pega for some time, a 'locum' consultant decided to reduce to 90, my numbers went up, so they increased my pega to 135, my numbers have stayed above 0.45, about 0.46/0.47, so I had a venesection, I think that was one venesection too much.. My iron levels must be very low. Next consultation on the 16th December, next GP blood test after Xmas..
I am even more tired and short fo breath...
