CBD or not CBD.
Hi all have been thinking of trying CBD isolate oil to help anxiety.
Have read that this alongside blood thinners, I am on clopidogrel may not be way forward.
I am also on hydroxycarbamide.
Any help be great.

My only advice is to run this past your haematologist/specialist pharmacist. I don't think it's wise to add anything to the mix without professional advice.
I was once told by a nurse practitioner that he wished that he was allowed to prescribe it for pain as he had seen some great results.
Hi I have Cannibis oil and it has helped me heaps with inflammation I move around more I feel better when I wake up I have a paste and oil helps me have a restful sleep I take at night it has THC in it I am on Hydrea and Asprin too
This is a good reource for information on supplement-medication interactions.

It sounds like your hematologist was spot on in the feedback.
CBD+clopidogrel+HU = no interactions
Cannabis+clopidogrel+HU =
Monitor Closely
marijuana + clopidogrel
marijuana will decrease the level or effect of clopidogrel by affecting hepatic/intestinal enzyme CYP3A4 metabolism. Use Caution/Monitor. Inhibition of CYP3A4 will reduce clopidogrel bioactivation
You are fortunate that your hematologist knew the answer to your question. Unfortunately, many docs are not familiar with how supplements interact with medications. That is why I consult with an Integrative Medicine doc. I always assume that if a supplement is biologically active enough to help, then it could also hurt and interact with things. Always best to get expert input when considering these things.
Hi I bought some at great expense and on impulse. I never used it in the end neither did I run it past my heamo’s. What ever you want to take you must inform your consultant.
Hi. I’ve been taking CBD oil for a few years to help my hand pain. I noticed that helps other body aches & it also is slightly calming. But I have CBD gummies which help me get to sleep. Although I’ve been told CBD affects your blood-either thins it or the opposite-my MPN docs aren’t concerned that I take it. The biggest thing is to get good quality. Most CBD oil isn’t pure, free from bad substances or even effective. So be sure to get it from a reliable lab that runs 3rd party testing. Regarding work testing, you should know that CBD oil can contain a trace amounts of THC. Good luck
Hi. I’m in the US & my sources may not be available to you. My CBD oil is from EBM Medical & requires a doctor’s prescription even though there’s no THC beyond the minuscule amount allowed. I take it twice daily. My gummies are from a company called Charlotte’s Web. I chose the type to reduce stress. I’ll take a whole one for sleep & a half for stress. Just be sure to look for third party testing. Most good companies have money back guarantees which is great-this stuff is expensive in the states. Let us know how you do. Katie
Thanks katie,My haematologist have said CBD without THC will be ok.
I am awaiting to hear from my workplace medical team if CBD without THC is ok for me. Due to our drug and alcohol policy.
Will keep you posted, have been advised that PUREIS is good. But expensive.
Will look around once I hear from work, was looking at Holland and barratt stores as well who supply this oil.
Thanks
