Medical holiday insurance

hello everyone.

I just thought I’d let you know about my experience of obtaining travel insurance if anyone is looking for some. I am ET-Jak2 pos on peg. I am also very unlucky to have Epilepsy, COPD, and Diabetes type 2. It’s a wonder I’m still here 🤣.

I have had many many quotes some being as high as £350, nearly half the price of my holiday! Several insurance companies wouldn’t insure me.

I have found one on compare the market with Insure and Escape for £86 which will cover all my conditions and also has covid cover. They have cheaper policies but I chose their highest cover. They are very quick at getting back to you about any queries you may have. I have spent hours and hours online looking at dozens of insurance policies.

I hope this information is useful to someone and can save them some money. To anyone going away, have a great time and stay safe.

Can I ask where you're travelling to? I have just got a quote from them which was nearly £300. I have polycythaemia no medication and psoriatic arthritis with no medication. I'm 69 and going to Mexico. This was the highest quote I've received. Just trying to work out what the difference was.

I’m going to Kos. Maybe it’s different the further you go. Mine is only a short haul flight. I’m 61. Was that through compare the market or on their website?

Hi Jynx93 it was directly through their website so maybe that made the difference.Ax
