5th Covid Jab

Asked my Heamo dept about having a 5th jab, I had 4th jab 3 months ago. They said not necessary and to wait 6 months. After reading comments on here and on the government web site decided to have 5th jab. Went on government site and booked jab at local centre. No problems at all, had jab, just had sore arm next day.

I have mine booked for next week which is 4 months after my 4th. I was a bit unsure whether to wait because like you I have heard 3 months and 6 months but following a text from my hospital reminding me to get it I decided to book

I had my 5th one yesterday. The last 4 were all Pfizer but this time it would be the Moderna. They said that I would get better protection from the Moderna 🤔 got to wonder if this is totally true or is it a cost thing. Anyway, today I feel achy all over headache and sore arm. I never felt this bad with the last 4 of Pfizer so will be asking for Pfizer again in Aug. Hope you don't have too many side effects from your booster. Good luck and best wishes 😃

Thank you. I had 2 Astra Zeneca, then 2 Pfizer. I had only mild symptoms after the first 3 but felt dreadful after the 4th so I am a bit nervous about the fifth. Hope you feel better soon

My Dad, age 94, just had his 4th (all Pfizer). This is the max number normally authorized in US so far. He felt quite off as you did, still not all better. The 1st three were fine.

I'm extra pro vax, but not in a hurry for #4 for now. When they have an Omicron version we can take, I'll go for it for sure.

Thanks for the note. I'll see him next week and let you know.

The Moderna shot has more quantity of active ingredient for adults, normally at least 50mcg, vs 30 for Pfizer. This may be why they tell you it's better. Esp for the booster shots, from what I've read this advantage is not certain.
