It does not much matter. One tablet more or less of HU is not significant. It really will not matter whether you catch up or just skip it. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with.

When I’ve done that I just take two on the next day.

Morning. I agree with Hunter. Don’t worry just take an extra tablet the day after. You might find it helpful to write the initial of the day in a sharpie on the back of the packet - one initial on each tablet - so that you can see if you’ve taken the correct dose. I take 2 every day so have M M. T T WW TT etc Your packet would look like M T W T F SS SS

I take the same as you and forget sometimes, my haematologist said it doesn’t matter as long as you take the correct amount over the week.I also take methotrexate on a Saturday only and sometimes forget when out of my normal routine, or as you say Christmas Day. 🎄

My hematologist told me the same as piggie50 was told. He said it was how many you take over the course of a week not day by day. I take 8 per week, sometimes the day I take 2 is different because I forget.

Hi! I have the same as you and take the same as you. It's not a daft question at all that's exactly the kind of thing that stresses me out too! Taking 2 today then 2 tomorrow (monday) makes sense to me too, HOWEVER, that would mean the total medication you would take for the coming week (monday to sunday) would exceed weekly dosage?? Unless you would continue with then always taking the double dose on sunday and monday instead of saturday and sunday?? So if it was me I would rather contact my CNS (nurse) or Heamatologist tomorrow morning to check. If I coudn't get hold of someone before meds time I would take the 2 tomorrow and then just tell them when I can get hold of them asap that I did that.

I was diagnosed almost 7 months ago and I've been on hydroxy for 4 months now. I take other medications in the morning including the aspirin and didn't want to add the hydroxy on top of that as I get nauseas. So I take hydroxy in the evening. In the beginning I had a few quite panicky moments when I genuinely couldn't remember if I'd taken them (too much going on with health and tablets). Couldn't expect my brain to keep track, so I stuck a paper up on the kitchen cupboard with the date and day listed for about 2 months at a time. I underlined the saturdays and sundays with red so I'd remember that I need to take 2 on those days. And every evening when I take the hydroxy I tick it off on the list for that day. I then also started setting an alarm that repeats every day same time to take the hydroxy. Doing this makes me feel more organised and less stressed about trying to remember and panicking if I'm not sure. Nothing we do is silly I think if it helps us feel more in control of our condition as there's a lot not much in our control - the balancing act with medication, platelets and other blood counts going up and/or down, trusting doctors, symptoms and fatigue improving or worsening etc etc.

I've also decided to make a list of all meds I take, dosages and times I take it in case anything happens that my husband/who-ever is hopefully there to help can see it. Might sound silly but I think better to be too careful/organised than not you never know. If you don't like lists stuck on your fridge or cupboards I guess you could put it inside instead and just make sure someone else knows where it is.

Sorry that was a mighty long message I wrote but I hope some of it helps, or just that someone has the same as you and is on here too and we can all be here for each other for advice and support hopefully.

I have now bought a little circular box which covers the week Sunday to Saturday. I put one tablet in each box of the week and two in the Saturday and Sunday boxes together with an aspirin in each one also. That way I find its easier not to miss one and just take what is in each daily box. I then refil it every Monday. It may just help.
