I have finally got a jab-date but the place is far from my home and no busses seem to fit into my "cheme" so ::: Does anybody know if it is ok to bicycle to and fro the place where you can get your jab ?? I have ET jak2 neg. and I am on Pegasys.

The distance is about 10 km both ways.

Thanks

Just did my first dose of the Moderna COVID vaccine. Feel fine in the hours afterward. Assuming you regularly ride a bike, I do not know any reason why it would not be OK to ride a bike 10K unless you were to have an unusual reaction.

Hi,

I have ET and take Peg Interferon. I had a jab a couple of weeks ago and because I had the Oxford jab I didn't have to hang around afterwards. I didn't cycle to the place where it took place but I do cycle for fitness and did cycle every day after that. As said if you are someone who is used to cycling I think you would be OK. So unless you have a reaction to the jab I think you should be OK. I had the jab on a Saturday and take Peg every other week and was due for my Peg dose on the Monday. On the Monday I didn't feel 100% so I delayed the Peg until the following day.

Good luck

Thanks Jocko !! Sounds great. I'll empty a glass of antihistamine before I go :) -- Really hope I can avoid an anaphylactic shock !! I hate them. Have enough during summer, but I suppose the vaccine is pollen free ;)

Hi

Do you have a friend that can take you, or alternatively book a taxi?

The last thing you want is a bit of a reaction, unlikely of course, and be stranded, or worse to come on while you are on the ride back.

Ouch !! Sounds spooky. Taxis here are only for the rich !! No no friends with cars, we are a gasoline free bunch of old dafties !!!

Thanks, sounds great :) I loathe crowded city busses and the way to the hospital is following a river and their is a path for bicycles. It would be a shame to miss the almost budding trees and the water birds !!!

Can only give you anecdotal eveidence - my brother biked both ways and roughly same distance. Aged 70 and had Phizer jab - no problems. The chap in front of my husband at a mass vac centre, again at least 70, turned out to be an acquaintance and he was clutching his helmet and too had biked, about half that distance. They had Oxford one and again no problem.

Neither my husband (went by car) or my brother at different places were asked how they came nor told to wait 15 minutes though I think my brother, an ex nurse, thought it was a good idea to sit on an outside wall for a bit just to be on the safe side

Sounds fine. We are forced to wait for 15 min before we leave, but I don't mind !!

Have a nice weekend!
