Yes it’s recommended for blood cancer patients. I had my 3rd jab 4 weeks ago and will have a booster after 8 weeks.

I thought the gap was 6 months from the 3rd primary jab to the booster. Where did you get the info for 8 weeks? I was under the impression that the 8 weeks was when the 3rd primary could be given after the 2nd.

The local vaccination programme coordinator called me to arrange my 3rd jab and he told me I would have the booster in 8 weeks

It sounds as though the coordinator is confused by the terminology surrounding these vaccines too!

As I understand it, the “Third Primary Dose” can be given ‘from’ eight weeks after the second vaccine; however, the ‘booster’ vaccine should be administered six months after this. Just to confuse things further, I believe the ‘six months’ has now been reduced to ‘five months.’

I agree with this.

Quite possibly as there has been so much confusion. I will find out eventually. As long as I get it that’s all that matters

I had my 3rd primary dose in October and was told I’d still need a booster 6 months after that

This is how I thought it should be too

Hi ChillyAsh , , as i understand it it's all down to how it's recorded on your jab record or medical record . If you're classed as 'vulnerable' it ought be noted as a 3rd Primary then if the system (?) works you should be contacted again in 6 months for a booster on top. You will fall into this category although many MPN and other cancer patients haven't been recognised and recoorded as such because I think of poor roll out communication and therefore are unlikely to be called for the mid point booster. They will probably be called again in the usual 12 months. Hope that makes sense as it's a bit early in the day for 'ze little grey cells' to function to their full capacity , which most days isn't that great though I sometimes do quite with the conundrums on Richard Osmans House of Games.

Regards - Chris
