Phizer Vaccine - has anyone had any side effects with any medications that MPN patients take such as HU, blood thinners?

I go for my first dose of the phizer vaccine tomorrow and noticed that many people have received their first jab already with minimal side effects. I asked my MPN care team if they knew of any side effects with the medications we take and they said there is not enough clinical data to know. Overall each of us are different and our immune system is weak to begin with so just wondering how all felt afterwards with the medications we take since I am taking HU, xeralto and aspirin and have MF JAK2

And I wonder will this mRNA know what to train in our fragile immune system

Thanks

Hi,I'm 68, diagnosed ET/PV approximately 18 months ago. Take 2 HU pills and 1 aspirin daily, and I had my first Pfizer Jab 3 weeks ago, it was painless and I had no side effects at all.

My understanding is that us older people have few or no side effects because our immune systems are a little more sleepy than younger people. This applies to everyone not just MPNers.

Good luck with your jab.

Hi Bainbridge, I have ET, on Hydroxycarbamide and asprin and had the Phizer vaccine on 13 Feb, and I felt absolutely fine afterwards, just had a bit of headache later in the afternoon which may not have been connected at all, took a couple of paracetamol and all good, no other issues, just slight tenderness the next day on my arm, but not as bad as after the flu jab. I hope all goes as well for you. Best wishes, Maz

Hi, I have ET and am on peg interferon and daily aspirin. I got the Pfizer vaccine last Tuesday morning. In the afternoon I felt "not quite right" and very sleepy. By the evening I was fine. I hope it all goes well for you, Best wishes

Hi there. I have PV and high platelets (under control) and take aspirin and Hydroxy. I had the Pfizer a while back. Nothing to report except a sore arm that was gone in twenty four hours.

I had mine a few weeks ago with no side effects apart from a slightly sore arm for 2 days.

Didn’t stop my aspirin and only delayed my monthly Pegasys jab for 3 days in case of any side effects that might have caused confusion but in the event there weren’t any.

Looking forward to my second dose in April..!

I have received both doses of Pfizer and had a little sore arm with the first injection but no side effects at all from the second one !!! Such a relief to have received both injections. Can’t wait to see our grandchildren.
