Yes, absolutely. I'm waiting for a date from my GP surgery. Unless you have a medical reason, there is no reason to not have it.
Having mine tomorrow.
Defo- getting mine this afternoon and can’t wait
Had mine Wednesday.
Yes had it 3 weeks ago (Astra-Zenica)!why are u asking ?
Had my first dose Astra Zenica on Wed ☺😚

As soon as I can get an appointment.
Having mine tomorrow.
My wife has MF and no spleen, her consultant was astonished that she hasn't been offered the vaccine yet and told us to contact the GP surgery. Did that on the way home. Was told they never had any. But what does anyone expect in Wales, they only make the vaccine eight miles up the road!
Had mine 2 weeks ago with no side effects
Yes i. Had my first one
Yes...
Already had the first dose . All well
Had it last Saturday. I was nervous about being in contact with people but it was well organised and supervised. Was a bit sleepy and hot that night and through the next day but that was good, it showed my immune system was working. Now all I have is a bit of tenderness at the injection site. Can’t wait to have my second one.
Same here Jill, slept on and off yesterday, fine today, just a bit of a sore arm though have got a slight headache today but can't wait for follow up jab. Tina.x
Had mine a week ago, thank goodness.
Had my first Pfizer nearly three weeks ago. No problems at all.
Had mine, all ok, looking forward to the second!
Had my first one on Monday.
Yes if I can get it. In NJ (USA) it’s like winning the lottery. Been trying for weeks all hours day & night and can’t get any. It seems only healthy young politicians can get it to make a show of how safe it is on tv. Regular immune compromised folks & seniors are having a very hard time. It’s so very stressful.
Things haven’t improved then for you guys in the USA
Not in my state. We are very close to NY, heavily populated and hit really hard with cases. So whenever the news stations posts of a drug store chain having the vaccine, it’s like a starter gun goes off and only the computer savvy are quick enough to get them. I’ve seen reports where some people use up to 4 electronic devices at once . By the time I find my glasses, the race is already over. lol.
It is so stressful. When I finally saw on line there was an appointment, I was shaking trying to enter my name etc. the process shouldn’t be so stressful. I hope with more vaccine available, it will be an easier process. It is a lottery. I have ET... my husband is paralyzed from a spinal cord injury so both of us really needed to get the vaccine. We are so relieved to have had our first shot yesterday.
No it should not. Yesterday I actually got through and booked 2 vaccines at a CVS drug store but when entering my prescription info, the app would not accept what I typed. I kept trying for 30 minutes but it would not work. Then the page refreshed & a notice came up saying I got timed out & I lost both appts. I actually started crying over the stress of it. The most infuriating thing is CVS is where we’ve filled all our prescriptions for at least a decade but they would not recognize my info. I am glad to hear you & your husband got your first shot! Nothing else to do but keep trying.
I had mine 11 days ago, had a bit of a sore arm for a couple of days, but otherwise absolutely fine.
YES!! ASAP.
Had mine on Monday!
Scheduled for the 15th.
Had mine 2 weeks ago - all good.
Having mine on Wednesday.
According to the First minister of Wales everyone in the top four groups in Wales have had the vaccine. Now they must be doing it when you're asleep, and how they get into the house through a locked door is puzzling. I know my lady loves milk tray, but I also know she'd rather very dark chocolate. They never left a card either.
I got my first dose of Pfizer yesterday, sore arm but that is all and not all that sore . I live in Iowa. Had to be on line about 24 hours a day to find an appointment. Such a relief to have it.
Yes had mine yesterday so grateful & thankful to be able to get it done!
GOOD MORNING AND THANKS FOR GETTING BACK TO ME .... I HAVE ET AND MY PLATELETS ARE ABOUT 550 SO I DO NOT KNOW IF I SHOULD GET THE SHOTS ..... WHAT DO U THINK ... I AM AFRAID IF I GET THE SHOT IF WILL INCREASE MY PLATELETS AND I AM TRYING TO KEEP THEM DOWN ..... SO WHAT WOULD U DO
Hi 111xx888, what makes you think it will increase your platelets? Remember that there is a lot of misinformation out there on the internet, so your best bet is to talk to your haematologist about your concerns. Many people on this forum have ET and are having the vaccine.
THANK YOU
Hi there - MPN voice and Blood Cancer UK posted a letter saying those with MPNs should be considered high risk from COVID and should have the vaccine as a matter of urgency. By the looks of the comments on here most people are relieved to have had it (as I am!) and I haven't seen any concerns about platelet troubles - misinformation? Check with your consultant if you are worried xx
After bringing my wife's MPN to the attention of her GP in various ways on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday she had a first class hand written invitation for her vaccine today Saturday, be given on Thursday 18th February. These doctors really need to be kicked up the jacksy to get the care we are all supposed to receive.
It's difficult enough to see one as they are all so busy doing what, I don't know, I can only imagine it's arranging their next holiday abroad.
GOOD MORNING AND THANKS FOR REPLYING ... THE REASON I ASK IS I HAVE ET AND MY PLATLETS ARE ALREADY A LITTLE HIGH SO SHOULD I GET THE SHOT WHICH I BELIEVE INCREASES THE PLATLETS
I have ET platelets bit high as well, only just started Peg injections and had Covid jab the next day, I questioned would it be wise to have Covid jab and was promptly put on the list had it and feel fine on both 🤞
I feel the same I haven’t had it yet I am I. Australia I am also nervous about it I know though if we don’t have it we won’t be able to go travelling it go to doctors be so they won’t see us if we don’t have it so it’s like we are forced to anyway hopefully there are no side affects and all is good the first shipment arrived in Australia today but that won’t be for me yet I don’t think I have ET too good luck with all
Had mine A/Z last Tuesday, go for it!👍👍
DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THE SHOP RAISES YOUR PLATELETS
Hi 111xxx888. I had my second Moderna vaccine this past Friday. About 10h after the receiving the vaccine, I started having chills, fever, mild body aches, and fatigue. These symptoms continued for 24h into Saturday. Today is Sunday and other than the sore injection site on my arm, my body feels like it did on the day before my vaccination. What surprised me was that I didn’t feel any sort of tingling in my toes and shins that I sometimes feel with my ET. Even though my body was uncomfortable, I slept better than I did the few nights leading up to my vaccination appointment.
Similar to you, I have ET with platelets around 600s, and was concerned that the vaccine would increase my platelets, not b/c of the pharmaceuticals, but b/c the side effects would stress my body. From my past lab results, I’ve made the inference that stress is a component in increasing my platelets (my platelets counts were always lower on my blood draws after my return from a vacation 🙂).
For me, the benefits of receiving the COVID vaccine outweigh the risks. I would encourage you to talk to your MPN specialist about your concerns about the vaccine to help you guide you in your decision making process.
Getting my first jab on Tuesday! I’m in UK by the way and they also booked my second vaccination for 11th May. I’m looking forward to getting it done!
Yes, just did 6 days ago. ET Calr Type 1. It was Monday and Tuesday/Wednesday was not fun with all my regular aches and pains exacerbated. I’ll do the second does in 22 days.
I have PV and got first jab 2 weeks ago. Felt fine. Like another respondent, I’m more scared of Covid than raised platelets. Life is about balancing risks. Also I’ve not heard jab increases platelets. I’m sure our MPN specialists would have told us.
I had mine last week - no side effects apart from a slightly sore arm for 24 hours (Pfizer)
THANK YOU ..... NOW I FEEL BETTER ..... STAY SAFE
Just had my second today, all good. Relief as well. Just need the sheilding to be lifted end of March, then hopefully get some normality back.
