I've read a lot of positive feedback on here from fellow mpners who have had the covid 19 vac with no serious side effects which has been very reassuring thank you to all those that have posted. I'm scheduled to have the vac tomorrow and was just wondering if theres anyone on here with a second cancer thats had the vaccine ? I was originally diagnosed with ET but a recent BMB identified it had changed to PV and that I also have lymphoma.
Thank you
Stay safe.

Before you set off tomorrow, will you have time to phone your haematology nurse to ask? If not, I can at least assure you that the people doing the vaccine are VERY thorough in all the questions they ask. I had no sense of being rushed so you will be able to ask them anything you are concerned about. Hope it goes well!
Thanks Otterfield I'm glad you had a good experience Im hoping for the same. I did try to speak with my hemotologist today but he's on AL for 2 weeks. The person I spoke with did run my question past another hemotologist who said it should be fine but I would have felt better speaking with my own hemotologist as he knows all my history. I willl try to speak to my gp tomorrow before going for the vac but he may advise I speak to the hemotologist. I've read posts from mpners who have had the vac with no problem and I've looked on the lymphoma website and the general advice for people with Lymphoma is to have the vac but my concern is having the 2 blood cancer's.I didn't expect to have the vaccine yet I thought it would be in a couple of weeks time for me being classed as clinically extremely vulnerable and I planned to speak to my hemotologist at my review coming up but I've now been offered it sooner as I'm a health care worker.
Understand your concerns Camelian and I'm sorry you're having to deal with Lymphoma also. . Obviously I'm no expert here but given your underlying conditions and the fact you're a health worker I would expect you be given the go ahead. Bear in mind also that there are now Covid variants in the melting pot which may be harder to avoid if you're not shielding.
It's a pity you can't get a definitive yay or nay but maybe go along and see what they think as I'm sure they will have dealt with many in a similar position.
I managed to speak to my GP he said no problem with having the vaccine and said he would be sending me for the same vac at the same place even though been working from home sheilding so no difference there.
Hello Camelian - soz must have missed this post from you so I’m super late responding, but hoping your vaccine went ok - I’m also ET JAK2+ with lymphoma (non Hodgkin nodal marginal zone) - I scampered for my 1st dose + just waiting on a date for my 2nd - had no issues (dedicated haem team have been pretty much ‘deafening in their silence’ throughout the pandemic + the subject of vaccine!! so as always I did my own research + was happy to go for it) - that said, I certainly won’t be letting up any of my precautions for the foreseeable (wipes, sanitiser + masks are now a fixture in my life) Very best. Anne-Marie.
