Hair colouring (dying) and Hydroxyurea

Vanity question

Has anyone dyed their hair while on Hydroxyurea? I've been on it for 4 weeks and haven't noticed any issue with my hair, but dying isn't usually recommended on chemotherapy drugs, which I thought hydroxywas.

Hi there, I have been having my hair coloured at hairdresser since diagnosis 6 years ago and all seems well. I wouldn't think too much or very harsh ingredients would be any good but all is fine with me.

Hi. I asked the same question 12 months ago! Received lots of positive feedback and went ahead with it. I did go to my hairdresser as I didn’t fancy doing it myself. Looked great and it made me feel good too. Since last March however (when I was asked to shield) I’ve decided having a few grey strands will have to do for now.

Good luck x

I did when I was on Hydroxycarbamide, but only the semi permanent dye, if that makes a difference. No problems.

Note to all - Gray is beautiful! Color you hair if it makes you happy, but we love you no matter what color your hair is.

Side note: My hair turned gray and it fell out. On the bright side - I don't have to style it and don't get hat-head anymore. 😊

I was delighted when I developed a white streak in the greying process. Not least because I could use the bizarre colors without having to bleach my hair.

My favorite combination is purple, teal and leaving some of the white.
