Well, I had my first vaccine about three hours ago. It was the Pfizer and the whole process was extremely well organized at the medical centre. It's probably too soon for any side effects to kick in but I'll keep you posted.
First jab done!: Well, I had my first vaccine... - MPN Voice
First jab done!
That's brilliant. Did they give a date for 2nd one? All of us on ruxolitinib will be interested to hear about side effects but fingers crossed they are either non existent or slight for you.Rather different situation in Scotland or at least where I live. My husband (70) and a couple of over 70 year old friends have appointments at large vaccination centre next week - appointments sent by NHS Scotland. Shielders are being done at our local surgery with phone calls but after first 80s then 75-79s. Apparently they are still at the 80s so patience is needed!
Hope you get the call soon. At the moment I do feel very sleepy but that might be because I took Tramadol for my leg pain! Perhaps I shouldn't have mixed it with the vaccine but it's too late now!
I noticed you mentioned Tramadol for pain. I hope you don’t mind me asking if you are on Hydroxycarbmide.. I am , and I’ve been wondering what pain meds can be taken . Thank you
Mine got wiped down today, due to allergies, so getting the AstraZeneca one tomorrow. Yeh !!
👍 glad you got your first dose hope you're ok with it.
Mine delayed as GP got me down as housebound so down for home visit. I corrected them and got appt early Feb at another local surgery. Same day got another call from my GP surgery asking a few questions and saying I will get a home visit soon. Could of had 2 but I'm not greedy 😃.
Good luck All in the vaccine lottery.
Chris
.
I am glad you have had your covid jab ,i am lewis lammys partner. she suffered from ET for about 7 years ,and in august it turned into Acute myeloid leukemia she was given 6months but unfortunately while in Hospital receiving a blood trans fusion she developed pneumonia and as i sat with her in the early hours of the morning, a nurse came in and told me she had covid. Sadly she passed away several hours later, it was the most distressing time of my life, if only she had a covid jab she may have had another couple of months. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE IN HOSPITAL....... A devastated ED
I am so sorry that you have had that dreadful experience and I cannot begin to imagine what it feels like. I do hope that you have family and friends supporting you at such a tragic time.
Thank you on behalf of my wife Eleanor who was lewis lammy i urge everybody to take the vaccine if offered PLEASE DONT HESITATE! I will never forget what it done to my beloved wife Eleanor i was by her side for12 hours ,they never came back with the positive diagnosis till i was with her for 6 hours . TAKE CARE EVERYONE
I am so sorry to hear about your heartbreaking loss. I am sending love and prayers to you and family x
So sorry Ed. I’m still fighting for my jab as my primary care trust as of yet will not move me into group 4. So frustrating that we’re being treated differently. Take care. Jx
Wow. So very saddened for you. What a horrible experience to go through. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss of your beloved wife.
So dreadful, sending sincere hopes that you have help thru this time of tragic loss of your wife.Afriend of mine also died in hospital of Covid while in for a totally different reason. It is a shocking fact that seems to happen.Thinking of you.
Glad to hear that you were able to get the vaccine. Keep us posted!
Excellent Jennie...
My ears will remain alert to your next Post...
Thank you for sharing...
Steve
Hi Jennie. I'm glad you've received your first jab, I know you were keen to have it as soon as possible. Hope you are side effect free this morning? Tina.🤗
Hi - I had mine yesterday too! How you feeling? I have a very sore arm and headache/body aches today so very pleased I can have a lazy Saturday! If my kids let me 😂
I'm sorry you're feeling rough. I am fine so far...
I am a lot better than last night so hoping after a relaxing day back to norm tomorrow! Glad your ok!
The vaccinations are in full swing! Had mine (Pfizer) on Monday at Guy’s H. All good , just a sore arm for a couple of days. I am very appreciative of how well organised it was .
Had mine (the same) a week ago. The only side effect was a slightly sore arm the next day. I believe with the Pfizer, we have to have the second jab in about three weeks, not a longer wait like the other vaccines.
I think you will have to wait about 12 weeks. My son had the Pfizer vaccine about 6 weeks ago and he has not heard yet when he will get the second one. I had the Pfizer vaccine today
That's disappointing; as a shielder I need the vaccine to be 100%. Saying that I was surprised to get the first one so soon in an area which is supposed to be slow.
The nurse told me it would be 12 weeks. We are all high risk in this group but we have to accept that's how they are doing it, sadly.
Just had mine as well husband went and they asked me if I was booked said no as gp said was not vunerable but my hemo said I was they got doctor over.asked a few question then told them to give me jab
I had my first dose of Pfizer friday. Sore arm saturday but thats all
Hi all got my Covid vaccine too on 30th Jan - had a few wobbles post -injection - felt nauseous, head, neck & shoulder ache, then chills, followed by fever. This started approx 6 hours post vaccine & lasted 24 hours. I had paracetamol for symptoms. All ok afterwards. It was the Astra Zeneca vaccine.
I get my first jab today - its the AstraZeneca one - so glad to hear it helps stop transmission too as my fear was always getting it and passing it on to others. My friend is devastated at the moment as she was forced to go into work during a covid outbreak and her 91 year old dad is now in a. covid ward on oxygen. Employers that don’t safe guard their employees and families should be prosecuted
Not able to book a vaccine yet. Notts sent out the wrong link to CEV under 70, so now we all have to wait for another letter with the correct link to be able to book.
