I've got a calf strain and was going to get an ointment such as Deep Heat or similar brand.
However, as they contain Ibuprofen it says on the packet that you should consult your GP if you take Warfarin (which I do).
I know Ibuprofen has blood thinning properties but I wondered if anyone who is on Warfarin has spoken to their GP about using any of these types of creams if they've had any sore muscles, and are they ok to use?
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark, I use Flexiseq, they do a sports one which my husband swears by, this works well when taking Warfarin, used daily it really helps with joint pain. Must add it’s not cheap, but Weldricks on line chemist sell it a little cheaper.
I suffered a clot to the brain as my first finding out about my ET Jak 2 positive.I take warfarin and aspirin. If you want my advice dont use anything except aromatherapy oils, these are very effective and are well tolerated by most.No side effects and very useful for the pain you are experiencing.
My Consultant would say yes , Lavender is good for pain but you have to try, I buy a base oil at body shop and add small amounts of Lavender.
Hi we appear to have had similar experiences clots in the head,ET and Jak 2 although l also take warfrin and Hydroxy. I would love to find an oil that could help lm allergic to lavender and chamomile. Be well and thanks for your post l think aromatherapy is still underrated by many.

Hi Mark I suffer with terrible cramp chiefly in my calf muscles Magnesium Citrate 200 milligrams, either tablets or night spray usually sorts it out, but please check with your medical advisors and GP first. Good luckAdiewon
