Ah! Mine too Maz. Met a friend who said the detox wipes won’t work on viruses ( says they do on the pack) because they don’t contain alcohol. So we decided to swing neat gin whilst shopping.

Mints On offer at £3.50 so I stocked up!

For everyone:

In reply to another post saying that we’re deviating from the main point of this site......

I absolutely would not want to be disparaging, but you know we all need a bit of lighthearted banter sometimes.

And I know, having buddies around 35 newly diagnosed buddies how very anxious a new patient can get if all they read constantly is depressing stuff.

Yes, we all feel decidedly grotty sometimes, and I sympathise wholeheartedly with anyone who feels unwell for much of the time, but we do need to realise and take on board, that things could be a lot worse, and there are many many mpn patients who are getting on with life.

That’s the message I always try to get across.

Laughter, you know, is the very best medicine.

Always look on the bright side of life.

That made me laugh, 🤣 I was doing a bit of food shopping this morning, and I could not believe people’s trolleys piled high with toilet rolls, kitchen rolls baby wipes and nothing else, it’s madness, even noticed in Marks and Spencer that the shelf was empty of any anti bacterial wipes and hand gel. All I do at home is make up a solution of Zoflora spray on a cloth and wipe door handles, rails and worktops, and when I am out shopping I am wearing gloves, well if the queen does it, good enough for me, the other thing I use is a phone pen with a rubber end to use on the credit card machines as they are never wiped.

It’s so true about looking on the bright side of life, just get a bit fed up with the media going on about the elderly are most at risk especially if they have underlying health problems well I am not getting any younger so that really annoys me, so I stick my fingers up at them and keep calm and carry on.

Good for you Jean! We have a holiday let here in the Lakes and I had a young Irish couple cancel their booking for next week because they don’t want to travel! Can you believe it? Whats wrong with people?

Madness. It’s flu for heavens sake, not the Bubonic plague.

I'll be sure to let the relatives of the 16 people who died in my county from this that it's "just a bit of flu"

Well said, Louise. A bit of light hearted banter is very definitely part of a support group in my view. Laughter is so important even when we are dealing with disease and the woes of the world. I think I might have to try those Benedick (auto correct wants to call them benedictus😂) mints. They sound good. Keep well and keep smiling everyone! xx

They are! £3.50 from Tesco at the mo on offer. Normally a fiver. I guzzle two after supper. Instead of wine which I don’t drink sadly. Doesn’t like me anymore!

I’m with you 👍 - no better medicine than having something to smile/laugh about.

Easy to make: alcohol plus aloe Vera and a couple of drops of essential oil if you like.

Ooo good idea! I’ll track down some aloe vera

You can use pure alcohol if your lazy. I read in the US the virus is a lipid which means any soap will do. I’m in Mexico, no wipes, hand gels, etc. I have lots of aloe plants, can I use them with the alcohol?

Isopropyl alcohol is drying. I believe the aloe is only to act as a moisturizer. I don't know why you couldn't use the plants.
