Hi all! I’ve been offered a flu jab but wasn’t sure if I should go ahead with it as think I remember a post on here saying we shouldn’t have vaccines. What do people know about this?

Flu jab
Hi Tim no quite the opposite we need flu jab (unless ever advised not to by your consultant) it's important with our lowered immune systems, particularly if on chemotherapy to avoid infection and the big one is flu - you will find most MPN patients in treatment are offered it by course I have had it the 13 odd years since I was diagnosed and treated. It's just live vacinnes that should be avoided, which the flu jab isn't one of. All the best
HI ever since the flu jags came out i have always had one this is the first time i have not had a letter that we are supposed to get one from health board it was dr receptionist said i take it you got your letter but i have not i am booked in to get mine on Thursday it is better to get one if you do not you might end like me four weeks in bed with flu as i had made my appointment but got it well before getting jag

get it done i have et jak2+
Take it! It’s not a live vaccine - unlike the kids nasal spray version. (And you can get it done on the High Street at Boots etc for free.) There are two vaccines this year an under 65s and an over 65s. There was a shortage of the former at GPs which is why I went to Boots (who own the pharmaceutical company that manufactures that vaccine). Am assuming supply issues have been resolved. Def get it done ASAP!
In February 2015 I got flu on holiday (not nice) it was months before my diagnosis of PV I have the jab gladly every year now - going for it Saturday
I get my first ever Flu jab and a one off Pneumonax jab on the 8th. Oh the joys of being in an at risk group!
