A question please. I take hydroxy 500mg, blood pressure medicine, aspirin and statins. I have fluid around my ankles. Does anyone know if I am able to take something to get rid of the fluid, perhaps a diuretic, with this already complex mix of medicines.
Thanks.

A little bit of coincidence - I have also recently started to have fluid on my ankles. Fine in the morning and gradually through the day, they swell up. Apart from the hydroxy, I take the same medicine as you. For safety, I have booked an appointment to see my gp as I think it best to find out why this has developed. I am wondering if the current heatwave has something to do with it as that is when I started to have this problem. If I were you, I'd go see my gp and get it looked into. Wishing you well
Hi if you are amlodipine or felodipine for BP they can cause ankle swelling sometimes worse in the heat. Def go and see your GP and get your BP checked and potentially an up to date renal function and then hopefully they can decide on giving you a diuretic too. Are you more breathless than normal too or needing to sleep more propped up at night as that can be a sign of fluid build up too that would usually respond to diuretic.
