Possible pv

Last week i had blood tests for possible glandular fever as my glands are all swollen, I'm so tired, got a constant cold & pain on the left side of my stomach.

Gf result was negative but I've been told i may have pv. I'm confused!

Blood results are

Haemoglobin 154

Haematocrit 0.466

Mean cell volume 82.4

Red cell count 5.59

Are these results possibly pv?

Hi Viicky, sorry to hear that you have been unwell. I am afraid that we can't tell you if you do or don't have PV, we are not allowed to give a diagnosis, this will have to come from your GP or haematologist, if you have been referred to one. Speak to whoever gave you this result of possible PV and discuss it with them, once you know you can then read the information we have on our website mpnvoice.org.uk. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes, Maz

My GP has referred me to a haematologist for confirmation of Polycythemia & to determine what type it is. Is this the normal way to proceed?
