Hi Maz, I just want to say thank you for adding me to this group. It is awesome. I have learned so much which has made my life a little more comfortable. The information on from this chat gives me great hope. Everytime I visit my haem, I have so many questions for him based on the information I have received from the people from this forum. I am managing well and my platelets are going down. I started at 626 and now it is 464. Hoping to have it even further reduced with the use of hydroxy. It is not everyday I feel the best, but I am trusting that all will be well. Thanks all for the information and to all 'feel better'.
Good luck with the appointment. I was very wound up before I went for mine on Monday. If you can take someone along with you it really helps. My husband came with me (didnโt trust me not to crash the car!) and was a complete brick, even though he was completely out of his comfort zone.
Donโt feel nervous. I too asked to be referred to Tim Somervaille and after just 3 appointments my life has been turned around for the better. They listen to you! Everyone in the clinic are so helpful
Iโm trying not to feel as nervous/anxious but keep thinking to myself iโm going to a cancer hospital!! Iโm sure iโll cry when i arrive ๐๐
Hi all.. apt went well.. bloods all repeated inc gene tests.. also bone marrow biopsy to be requested from lab in leeds for christies to test. Apt again in 6 weeks.
Was a slick, friendly and organised clinic. Staff very friendly.
I have PV and live in Windermere. I was a patient locally but decamped to Christie's 4 plus years ago because I had absolutely no faith in my treatment.
I too see Tim Somervaille who specialises in MPN's - he's a really nice guy, knows his stuff and believe me - it's the best choice you will ever have made.
Are you interested in knowing a lady in Kirkby Lonsdale who also has ET?
She too is about to move to Christie's. My direct email is louisebroughton8388@gmail.com.
