There were lots of fundraising events in 2016, we have been amazed by the variety of ways that our MPN Voice supporters have raised money to support us, taking part in: cycle rides, fashion shows, walks, marathons, 10K runs, abseil, craft fairs, evenings with bands, hosted lunches, open gardens, themed parties, 3 Peaks challenge, special forces challenge and many more - we would like to say thank you to all of you who have organized and/or taken part in an event. And 2017 looks like it will be just as busy and exciting.

We are also pleased to announce that in conjunction with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity (MPN Voice comes under the umbrella of this charity), we can continue to offer places for MPN Voice fundraisers in some iconic events during 2017:

•23 April Virgin Money London Marathon

•12 May St Thomas’ Abseil

•29 May Vitality London 10,000

•18 June Skydive

•30 July Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100

•30 September Guy’s Urban Challenge

•8 October Royal Parks Half Marathon

For more details of each event, including how to register, go to the Events page mpnvoice.org.uk/get-involve...

Remember to say that you are taking part and raising funds for MPN Voice.

If you are taking part in, or organizing a fundraising event, whatever it is, we would love to hear about it so that we can let everyone know, so tell us by emailing fundraising@mpnvoice.org.uk, just like these wonderful people have:

Rebecca Paling – The Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon - Sun 12 Mar, and The Vienna Marathon Sun 23 Apr

Rebecca is taking part in 2 half marathons and raising money for MPN Voice as her friend, Theresa has a MPN and Rebecca, like many people had never heard of MPNs but now she has a better understanding and wants to help make a difference in the fight to defeat MPNs. Good luck Rebecca for both events, the Vienna Marathon sounds very exciting, especially crossing the 854 metre long Imperial Bridge over the River Danube, accompanied by the famous Johann Strauss Danube Waltz!

To support Rebecca go to her Just Giving page justgiving.com/beckypaling1

Thomas Caron – The Virgin London Marathon – Sun 23 Apr

Thomas is taking part in the marathon and raising funds for MPN Voice as his dad, Mark, has PV, and he wants to help raise funds to support MPN Voice, and on Sun 17 Jul his friends Kevin Coolin and Thomas Marshall will be taking part in the 6K Oxford Lock to Lock swim from Eynsham down the Thames to the centre of Oxford, all money raised by them will go towards the overall fund for MPN Voice, so a massive thank you to all of you. If you would like to support Thomas go to his Just Giving page justgiving.com/fundraising/...

And also a massive thank you to Mark and Meriel Caron for organizing a recent Comedy Night in their local club, they had a disco and were entertained by the professional comedian Patrick Monahan, a great night was had by all and all money raised has been donated to MPN Voice. Caron family, you are amazing!

Catriona Coulthurst is also taking part in the Virgin London Marathon, she has been inspired to raise funds for MPN Voice by Sheena, her partner’s mum who has MF. Sheena herself is a great fundraiser for MPN Voice and Catriona would now like to take her turn in helping us to continue funding vital research, she says she only intends to do the marathon once! Good luck Catriona, we will be cheering you on (from the sofa). If you would like to support Catriona go to her Just Giving page justgiving.com/fundraising/...

Freya French – 5K run as part of The Edinburgh Marathon Festival – Sat 27 May

Freya is 13 years old and with her step-dad Ally, who has ET, she will be running 5K in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, her younger sister, Mairin, is also taking part running 1.5K, the route will take them around Holyrood Park with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and the city, they are very kindly raising funds for MPN Voice, we wish you good luck, to support them go to their Just Giving page justgiving.com/EMF5kRun

Becky McDonald – The Cotswold 113 Middle Distance Triathlon - Sun 4 Jun

Becky set herself this challenge as she wants to raise awareness of MPNs and raise money to help continue funding research as her dad was diagnosed last year with MF. She will have to swim 1.2 miles in the lake 32 in the centre of Ashton Keynes water park, she then has to cycle 56 miles through beautiful Cotswold villages, and then run 13 miles on paths around the lake and through villages. Good luck Becky. If you would like to support Becky go to her Just Giving page justgiving.com/Becky-Mcdonald1

Good luck and thank you to you all for you wonderful support.
