Hey Guys , well I made it. . Had Hickman Line inserted and already had a wee bag of innocuous chemo down it. . Hmm. Not sure how I will be feeling in a day or 2 or 3 so thought I'd take this opportunity to let you all know I'm off and 'running'. . I have read all your comments of support and carry them with me.
Love and thanks to all . Chris

Aww well done you and I'll come and watch you at the transplant games next year you don't have to do anything strenuous you could just throw a few darts lol
Are we all calling you Chris now ? Honestly some people get new stem cells and start changing their name .
I seriously think you are a brave and fearless fellow and I'll be thinking of you and watching for updates .
Chris, I've just read your story and would like to wish you great good luck. Your positivity shines out from you and as a new convert to the power of positive thought, I think you'll do very well. Every good wish to you x
Looking good Chris/JR. Wishing you all the best - your positivity & realism at same time is such a boost for everyone, I know it must do the trick for you too. Onwards & upwards. .. keep those medics on their toes with your witty repartee hehe :-). Liz x
Chemo for this is a doddle although you can sometimes taste it. Conditioning is the challenge but varies for different patients, could be smooth or bumpy passage but a short
Well done - wholehearted support to you - and that chemo altho it feels like an ememy it will actually be your friend and silently do its work to bring bettwr days ahead - thiughrs are with you.
Hey Chris, looking good. You are going to have to drop the R from JR, you are a true Jedi. So pleased you doing good. Thinking of you Liz xx
Yeah Cheers folks, , got em in a panic last night running a high temp. . Who ever heard of an MPN patient boiling over at night??. . So twas ice packs (no paracetamol with chemo ) doc came , more bloods , and put on intravenous antibiotics in case of infection. . So it wasn't a perfect end to the day. . Today it's drugs, chemo, antibiotics, dressing change maybe. . Plenty to look forward to , oh and I may have a shave if I get time !! 😆😆😆, , by the way just call me what you like , not too offensive though. .
Hope the rest of the day is going smoothly, its good to hear about the journey you are on---sounds as if you are keeping everyone busy! All good wishes from across the pond.
Call you what we like....ummn....Inspirational, brave, fun, poetic, trying to think of acrostic word with the I and B and F and P and come up with...Bifp, the sort of dream word for a ventriloquist! a sort of lisp gone wrong! Hope you have better day tomorrow and much love and encouragement flow from us all. Tinkerbell13
Doubt anyone could be offensive to our current hero! No need to get hot under the collar thinking about it though! I'm not sure - do we run a temperature when we boil over at night? - I don't know, never bothered to take it! Hope they didn't chill you too much with the ice though. You are in good hands and with all the positive vibes coming your way you are in a good place (doubt you think it's too good at the moment!). At least you have started your steps into the unknown and that has to be better that the anticipation. Did you know that fear stands for False Expectation Appearing Real? That will give you food for thought in between all your forced activities of the day. Keep strong, my friend. Jan x
Well I've thought of a few things to call you! However I'll stick to Brave Jedi!! Hope all goes well for you. If good wishes help you'll fly through the treatment! X
Never expected when I joined site to get sent pics of a good looking guy in bed ...

Hi Chris. Been away from my computer for a few days, visiting with my daughter and granddaughter but thought of you frequently and wished for you in a wishing well. Hope you are coping. Mel xx
Thanks Mel I hope you had an enjoyable few days and had a Grand-daughter 'fix'. . I'm OK it's a Roller coaster with ups downs twists and turns quite unlike anything you might want to experience, you just have to stay focused on a successful outcome hard as it gets. . Cheers Chris x
I can't imagine how awful it must be, my dad had MF and was never given this opportunity, so I so want this to work for you. I guess it has to get worse before it gets better and you are so strong and have the right mind set, if anyone can cope, it's you!
I had a perfect and very much needed grand-daughter fix thank you x
It is Jane sid and I do feel all the support , , doing my best to stay strong it's a very tiring process in the initial week when you see what your body is hit with I'm surprised I can stand up. . . Cheers for your best wishes. Chris
Good good! I'm a bit ignorant I'm afraid, how do they harvest the stem cells from your sister? Is it similar to a venesection or are they taken like in a bone marrow biopsy?
