Does anybody suffer from numb feet started just in toes but has spread to whole of the foot. Have ET Jak 2 positive just on aspirin at the moment. My haem has referred me for a doppler scan will wait and see what that brings up.

Numb feet
Hello Benjamin
Many years ago, possibly as long as 12, I had a strange form of 'flu. Bordering pneumonia and took good six weeks to clear chest infection. At the end of it I developed numb toes and fingers and doctor thought it was a virus that had attacked whilst I was 'down'. It was a good four months before things cleared but I was left with one toe forever numb! I have MF by the way but was PV for two or so years before making it three years in total to have one of these strange conditions.
Given that the present thought is that we catch this from either exposure to radiation or a virus so far as I understand, I have always wondered if when I got these numb bits this was the start of things. Not too helpful for you today Benjamin but I thought interesting connection when I read your blog. One other thing, I get extremely cold hands and feet since the viral attack so long ago.
I wish you well though and am interested to know how you get on.

I haven't got numb feet but I do get "dead" arms a lot in bed, I have ET, Jak 2 negative, on HU and aspirin. sorry that's of no help to you, I hope you can get it sorted. I often get very itchy feet and hands.
Since I went on ruxolitinib the fingers and toes on my right side go numb but mainly frozen and white on a very regular basis
Just the opposite. Eons ago, before my ET Dx, I went to a GP with a complaint of burning toes. He could find nothing; (Same 'duck sound' who thought my high-high platelet count would clear up) although, he looked for tinnea pedis. I later found out that oversize platelets often lodge in the capillary beds of the extremities causing the burning sensation. Good luck with finding out the problem with the numbness.
I don't have numb toes, but do have weird feeling heels and ankles! Never could understand the feeling as it is very odd. I also am ET Jak 2 positive on HU and aspirin (but cardiologist put me on the aspirin and heamo is aware of this). Just something I have learned to live with, at my age (76) I'm afraid I don't let these things bother me, just take all my various pills and give thanks for feeling reasonably well. Luv E x
