I have experienced strange feet and ankle cramps that start on the outside of the foot and outside of the ankle and goes up the outside of the calf that stops at outside of knee The reason I keep saying outside is because it is common to experience cramps in the arch and up into the inside or middle of calf. Has anyone else with ET experience these? My platelets are within normal range thanks to 500 mg daily and 1000 mg 3 days a week. I also have dizzy spells and when I mentioned to my hematologist he thinks it has more to do with my bp than ET. Thoughts, please

I get very weird itching pain from the soles of my feet up. I get the leg pains, too (they feel like growing pains I had as a kid). I also have restless legs at night. I'm on Aspirin and other meds for other conditions, but these symptoms have been related to my ET and not other things. We went through a process of eliminating medications and bringing them back one by one. For me it is definitely the ET!
there is a condition called erythromelalgia MPN patients can have it My Haem has me on aspirin and blood thinners.Check it out and see if you have any similar probs. Mines does not affect me much it goes through flare ups then settles.good luck.
I had ET that progressed into PV. I have also recently occasionally been intense cramps in the lower calf that only happen when I am in bed asleep. Other MPNers have reported this as well. Some suggestions about it being related to a circulation issue. Have seen some commentary about increasing fluid intake and maintaining potassium input. Several comments also made about Tonic Water helping. I think I am going to try the tonic water myself. Maybe a splash of Bombay Sapphire will make it work even better!!
Thank you, hunter I am so glad for this site that we can share experiences because sometimes the Hematologists just pass our symptoms off as in our head:/
