Struggling!

Last year it was confirmed by my doctor that I cannot have children. With no other option being suitable for me and my husband I have had to accept that we will live our lives without children. I am only 27 and my whole life I have dreamt of having a family...i just do not know how to deal with this and how i am now suppose to live the rest of my life knowing it will not involve children.

Hi heartbroken

From the research I have done trying to help my husband, most people say you never get over it but you can learn to live with it.

I think the most important thing is to reach out to a counsellor for you both, so you have a safe environment to both discuss how you are feeling and more importantly how you can move on together.

I am sure someone with more knowledge than me will reply soon.

Hi heartbroken

Sorry to hear about the extremely difficult time you are having. I do hope the following information will help you find the right support. Along with this health unlocked community, that allows you to connect with others and receive peer support, at More To Life we aim to provide information to help you choose to access whatever support you feel ready for. On our website pages there is a support line number to connect you to a trained nurse if you wish, as well as information about our monthly online webinars that explore the challenges faced by the childless community. We could also put you in touch with a local contact volunteer who can lend an ear over the phone. Please take the time to look through our website support page to choose the support that you feel ready for and will be best for you.
