More To Life HealthUnlocked Guidelines

Our More To Life HealthUnlocked (HU) community is a safe place where those who are childless by circumstance, not choice can come together and support each other. We know that it helps many of you to cope with being childless and we want to ensure that the community is being used in the best way possible. We appreciate the time that everyone takes to provide peer-to-peer support to others in need.

By posting on the More To Life community you are accepting these posting guidelines, HU's site Guidelines (support.healthunlocked.com/) and HU's Terms of Use (healthunlocked.com/policies....

The community is moderated where possible by More To Life, which comes under the umbrella of Fertility Network UK.

Anything published on our community is the view of that individual and does not represent the view of More To Life.

More To Life cannot be held responsible for the content of external websites.

How should the community be used?

We are pleased that we can provide a place where you can come together and share your experiences of fertility issues. We understand that discussions can be varied and we appreciate that things can become animated. However, we will not tolerate any behaviour which makes other users feel uncomfortable, uneasy or unable to use the community. This includes, but is not limited to, posts which may:

1. be obscene, offensive, hateful, inflammatory or defamatory of any person

2. promote any discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age

3. infringe any copyright, database right, trade mark or any other right of any other person

4. be threatening, abuse or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety

5. be likely to harass, upset, embarrass alarm or annoy any other person

6. be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person

7. give the impression that they emanate from us, if this is not the case; or

8. advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse.

We ask that your participation on our community is respectful, honest and in the spirit of supporting and learning from fellow users. To that end we do ask users not swear or use language that others may find offensive.

Our community is first and foremost for discussions which relate to issues surrounding childlessness, this may include discussions about medical or surgical treatments or the more emotional struggles that being childless can bring. We ask that you always consider the content and tone of your post or response before clicking send – a few moments of consideration can prevent misunderstanding or upset.

More To Life reserves the right to remove posts, without notice, which we believe could cause upset to other members of the community, breach our guidelines or cause any disruption to the page.

If a user repeatedly breaks the rules we will ban them from using the community. The community is designed to be a safe place to discuss fertility issues in a constructive manner, please help us to maintain this.

Inappropriate Content

Any question, post, reply, or private message where the author is either: promoting his/her own business (or someone else's business) and encouraging people to visit their clinic/hospital, or directing the user to inappropriate products or external content, may be classed as spam and will be removed if they are deemed to be inappropriate.

Please refrain from replying to posts which you believe are upsetting or inappropriate. As a general rule, if something has been published on our HU community and you feel it is either upsetting or inappropriate, please report it to us and we will deal with it as soon as possible.

Please do not post offers to sell or give away your unwanted medications. Similarly, do not post requests for medication or over the counter supplements from others.

Please do not post your personal contact information on the main board and if you decide to share personal information in private messages please consider carefully your personal safety at all times. More To Life cannot be held responsible for the content of private messages or the action taken as a result of any such message. The messaging system cannot be accessed by More To Life.

Please do not post links to crowdfunding pages where you or other individuals are trying to raise funds.

Whilst we understand that there are a variety of good causes who need support, as a charity which receives no guaranteed funding ourselves we are not able to allow fundraising requests for other causes/organisations to be posted on our charities platform.

Medical Guidance

We understand that conversations on our HU community may include those of a medical nature. However, information posted on our HU community can support, but will not replace the relationship between you and your doctor or any other healthcare professional. Information from our HU community may inform your discussions, as well as the exploration of treatment options with your doctor/healthcare professional. You should always consult your doctor/healthcare professional if considering changing your medication or treatment.

Mentioning medical and other professionals

Please do not to comment on individual companies including medical and other health professionals, therapists and organisations within the community. Requests for feedback by private message are acceptable. Please be aware that we will edit or remove posts that we believe to be inappropriate.

More To Life reserves the right to update and/or amend these Guidelines at any time without notice.
