Hi do any family members past or present have autoimmune disease including thyroid? Or early heart attacks, strokes or miscarriages and stillbirths? If any of this sounds familiar, come back to me. MaryF

In view of this history it is vital to get tested, do all three tests and if it looks likely, a patient forum I help to administrate on this platform contains a list of Specialists across the UK who understand Hughes Syndrome/APS also known as Antiphospholipid Syndrome and Sticky Blood, Unfortunately a condition often missed or dismissed by neurologists. Sometimes a condition called Hughes Syndrome/APS can be missed, and at times somebody with this condition will also have a thyroid condition. The three blood tests are here: It might be a good idea to rule it out, also make sure they look at your thyroid, also D, B12 and Iron levels.

Anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL)

Lupus anticoagulant (LA)

Anti-beta2-glycoprotein-1 (anti-B2GP1)
