Hi my experience was exactly the same as Shazzer. Assuming space monkey means limbs not connected to body and brain, like being weightless and disconnected. But some people on here are fine with it so who knows!
I think I experienced just about every side effect on this list apart from the kidney stones! I have a vague recollection of trying to explain to the doctor what was wrong and just about managed to say 'I can't think properly.' On the plus side I would have been totally unaware of having had a migraine if one did occur.
That said, everyone is different and this might work for you. Everything is worth trying. Bizarrely my migraines stopped once I was put on a calcium channel blocker for Raynaud's. Good luck to you anyway!
Thanks for that I have decided not to take them I just don't feel like I could manage the side affects if I were to get them so iam going to give feverfew a herbal remedy a try
I have been taking topiramate for more than 8 years for migraines. I have absolutely no side effects, guess I must be one of the lucky ones. Good luck.
Hi there I am starting to take topiramate tomoz but have headache soon as I wake up 24hrs a day never goes away, can I take painkillers as well ? Many thanks x
I took it for 6 years. Only side effect at the beginning was tingles in my lips and finger tips All meds list side effects. Give it a try You may be surprised
I agree with cuchiess, I took topiramate 25mg for 2 years. Only side effect was that they made me sleepy and loss of appetite but other than that, I swear by them. Now I am almost migraine free to a point where I no longer take topiramate and only have an attack once evey 6-8 weeks. They were great for me, but everyone is different. Hope you find relief soon.
I could not take this drug...whatever is wrong with my brain, this drug made me so much worse. My headaches and visual problems were worse on this drug....I also have an allergy to sulfa, and I am wondering if this is why I had such a bad reaction since this drug has sulfa in it. But Shazzer is right...everyone is different and some people have been helped with this drug and some people don't get side effects. Like you, I started out on a very small dose. A small dose is a good idea to see how you react to the drug.
Have you tried myofascial release? This seems to get rid of my headaches entirely until I repeatedly re-expose myself to my major migraine stimulus: working on a computer....I am a lot like you. I usually have CONSTANT migraines and visual snow 24x7. But after myofasical release, the headaches seem to go away for a longer period of time. You want a myofascial therapist who has studied under John Barnes to ensure you get someone who is properly trained in this area. My therapist is in the Tacoma area. If you live in that area, I can give you her name. I am also taking large doses of CoQ10 and magnesium, which are migraine deterrents.
