Hi, just wondering if anyone has ever tried Botox to prevent migraines. As mine are getting more frequent I was going to try it. I would appreciate it if anyone would let me know how they found it. Thanks, Norri.

Botox as a prevention for migraines?
Hi yes I tryed Botox and it worked wonders .migraine free for 4 weeks then it starts to run out .had two lots through the migraine centre in London then went for the op that simulates the Botox treatment last Monday.hopes this helps.botox doesn't work for everyone but defiantly worth a try as worked really well for me.
Yes I have had 3 treatments and it has helped me a lot! I was referred by my doctor, but you can also look up neurologists in your area and start your search like that. If you have insurance is covers some of it depending on your deductible. There is a program called the Botox savings card you can sign up for and they help with the cost as well. Anything is worth a try if it will help with migraines because I had them almost everyday. Now I have a normal life and I can take care of my family. Just wanted to share my experience.
Thanks a mil for your reply, I appreciate it.
Your welcome. It helps to talk to people that understand a migraine. I try to talk to my husband about them but he doesn't know what it feels like. So thank you for listening.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I must try Botox as my migraines are debilitating 😞
Hi yes I've had 3 lots of Botox. Amazing difference gone from between 20-24 a month to around 6-8. Still get headaches (nothing like a migraine) that soluble aspirin takes away but its far less frequent and when they do come, far less distressing and painful.. Worth a try. Good luck Jackie X
I got 5 rounds of Botox (every 12 weeks) on nhs to see how it works then they give you a break to see what, if anything has changed. I attend The Walton neurology hospital in Liverpool. Sorry I forgot to mention x
Hey, my neurologist has just put me forward for Botox but it still needs to be approved, was just wondering how long it took for you?
Hi it took a couple of months as my neurologist had to go to a board to put me forward for approval and then get me an appointment. Worth the wait though I've gone from 20-24 migraines a month to an average of 5-6. It can be tough for the first week after injections with some bad neck pain and migraine but once it kicks in it's amazing. Good luck xx
It helped a Little first couple of times then no help I'm afraid. Worth a try good luck
Thanks a mil Katee👍🏼
