I have just been prescribed Atogepant tablets by my neurologist, as the injections didn't work for me and I've tried practically everything else. Has anyone else tried these and had success? Thankyou

Hi Mary. That's interesting, I finally have an appointment with a neurologist on 10 Feb, also after nothing has helped. I will let you know, and will be interested hear about yr experience. I have heard about Atogepant and am hopeful, as ever😀

I tried Atogepant and it worked very well. Completely took away the migraine. But I had to stop after 5 weeks as I was getting such bad side effect of upset stomach. However I have a VERY sensitive stomach and most other migraine medication upset my tummy too, so my next step is Botox injections. All the best!

I’ve been taking Atogepant for 3 months. I’ve had some improvement but still getting daily headaches and some migraine. I’m also having some side effects (digestive issues) which I’ve not had before! I’m going to stick with it for another 3 months as my doctor says it can take over 6 months to reach full effect. It hasn’t been the miracle cure I was hoping for! Interesting to hear others experience with it.

It seems the digestive side effects are the worse, I hope and pray they work for me, and hope you find some relief as time goes on. Thankyou for your reply, take care and good luck

I was on Atogepant last year . It made my symptoms worse just like all the other CGRP blockers . As soon as I came off it my acute medication use went down .Hope you have more success than I did

Thankyou for your reply, sorry you've not had more relief from CGRPs, im hoping for an improvement, but won't be surprised if they don't work. I find triptans to be the best relief but neurologist won't prescribe many because of medication overuse headache. And care and hope you feel better

I have had migraines since childhood and although I have been given various treatments, none helped with were for my migraines CRGP. This new tablet has been amazing for me, I've had a constant migraine for years and after being on this tablet for 10 weeks they have nearly gone.It does make me sleepy during the day but I have had no other side effects. I'm so glad I have been given this tablet.

Thankyou so much for your reply, I've taken the tablets for 6 days and have managed to not take any painkillers. I think it may be too early for me to say they're working, but I'm hopeful. I've also not found any side effects yet either. It would be wonderful if we could all find a cure and get our lives back. Take care and good luck for the future

Hi, Like you I have also been prescribed these as I was unable to take the Ajovy injections due to an immediate allergic reaction.I was initially given these to commence 1st Oct, unfortunately I had a reaction on the full 60mg dose so after a break of 4weeks, attempted a half dose. They have contraindications with Clarithromycin, an antibiotic, it increases the effect of both drugs so that didn't go well either.

I am due to start a 3rd attempt tomorrow at 30mg, with agreement of my neurologist. I will keep my fingers crossed due to outcome. I'm determined to have this work in some combination.

I've heard such positive things about at this medication and in the main has the fewest side effects. I really hope you have success with this and see a reduction in your headaches x

Hi thankyou for your reply. I'm sorry to hear you couldn't take the higher dose, I'm on the 60mg one and so far, have only had indigestion which I can cope with. I'm trying to get away from daily painkillers, I've managed 7 days so far. I still have mild headache but can manage without medication. I think it's too soon to celebrate for me yet, but I'm hopeful, as I've heard good reports too. Really Hope you are able to tolerate lower dose, take care and good luck x
