Just to let those of you who might be interested know, many charities and organisations are looking for animal fosterers, short and long term. They will be experiencing a rise in animals looking for foster homes at the moment due to Christmas, sad but true. If you think you might be interested you should definitely look into it. Its an excellent chance to do something worth while and have some amazing company too, unconditional love never goes amiss. Its not for everyone but if its for you it could potentially have a really positive impact. Wuf x

Love the idea. We have our own dog and he is always pleased to see us nomatter what. Wouldn' be without him, even though he is a bit naughty at times. Brilliant idea.

Thanks! They have can have such a positive impact, sometimes you forget so i hope people get something out of my gentle reminder :) The world would be a better place if everyone was as loving and happy to see each other as our canine friends! x

Fantastic idea, I have a cat who means the world to me and wouldn't part with him for the world. Unfortunately he doesn't get on with other animals otherwise I would happily take on more. Stroking an animal is helpful to calm you as well

Oh, im so sorry to hear that, it must be so upsetting for you, you really create a bond and its awful to have to deal with loss. There are so many animals looking for care and support so if you did think youd be able to provide a temporary (or perminant) home it could be a fantastic oppertunity x

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to have a dog or cat, but do watch the local rescues for pet rats. They are wonderful pets!

I think this is a great idea. We have 4 cats and when I'm depressed I tend to give them less attention, but they demand some and just having to feed them sometimes makes me feel good and always reminds me that life goes on! Suex

I agree this is a great idea :)...obviously not for everyone as you said but pets can have such a positive impact on people's lives. I have 2 dogs currently, both rescues and without the help of foster homes who knows what would have happened to them.

Definitely worth while and I find taking them walks helps with stress etc :)
