Quetiapine

I am trying not to worry about the shortage of Quetiapine. I have been on it for 17 years and can only remember misery before it. My surgery has given me three weeks supply but say they don't know if they can get it after that. Does anyone know what the situation is long term and why? I have bipolar and have been almost symptom free for the whole time. Insomnia was main problem but highs and lows as well. I have had my moments but generally it has works very well for me. I know a lot of people have side effects and weight gain has been one for me but going back to no meds or changing meds does not fill my heart with joy.
