Upping of my Sertraline, Side effects
Hi,
I have just started with Sertraline and have also been having a few dizzy spells. I presume that this is the case with you also.
Hey, I've been on sertraline for 2 yrs, going from 50, 100, and now 150 mg. The only way you can know if the late 50 dose boosted the 100 mg dose is to take the meds properly for 1-2 days to see if the dizziness subsides.
If the 100 mg dosage is the cause of dizziness, I don't recall having that side effect. Look to see if your anxiety level has increased, especially after cranking the dosage to 100. During my long process of finding the best dosage, my anxiety actually increased for awhile when boosting the dosage. I persuaded my dr to give me lorazapam to take off the edge off and it helped.
I can't give the answer to solve your dizziness. If you have an inner ear problem like Meniere's, dizziness can be prominent. My ear specialist gave me lorazapam to quieten down dizzy spells, and it worked!
Lastly, perhaps the dizziness will plateau and stop in a few days with rest and NO drinking of alcohol, in case you're a drinker.
Keep your chin up, it will get better!
