Your body does renew itself over time although sometimes we need to keep ourselves health.

I have not heard of a heart been shattered into little pieces.

Is your Anxiety bad at this time. If you are having problems with your heart talk to your GP.

We however are always liable to a broken heart especially when we loose someone we really love. This is a Metaphor to explain a great loss not a shattering of the heart muscle.
