Hi guys I have a driving test next week and wondering what you would do to manage your anxiety around a test. I have had a couple of mock tests and watched some video on YouTube so feel I am familiar with the format. On the day of the test I will meditate and go for a jog beforehand. I have put in a lot of preparation, but my anxiety and depression just doesn’t make me feel very optimistic about it.

Managing anxiety/nerves before a driving test
The secret to success is positive thinking - visualise yourself doing the task and completing successfully - every sports star and business/professional person uses this technique - concentrate and be a winner
Have you got any advice on visualisation?
Just go over what driving instructor has taught you and you have learned on tricky manoeuvres - just pretend you are in the situation and you have all the time in the world and then speed up to normal speed thinking - think of all roads, motorways, right, left, u turns and roundabouts - every sign is important and thinking of motorbikes and horses to slow down and pass carefully.
Thanks indervir
I had a driving mock today. It didn’t go well as I felt more anxious than I normally feel driving. So it affected my observations. I had three majors on the mock. I find being assessed makes my anxiety worse. If I am just practicing my driving is fine. How would you manage your nerves. My instructor said I could ask if I could pull over for a short break and do some deep breathing
