Hi, I’ve been on venlafaxine for at least 7 years now and while it has helped recently I have felt that it hasn’t been working. I’ve been getting ‘zaps’ late afternoon even though I haven’t missed a dose. I have visited my psychiatrist this week and he has upped my dose from 225mg to 300mg. I’m scared to take this higher dose, I’m anxious that my side effects will increase, namely weight gain, sweating, dithering and lack of libido. Has anyone else suffered more side effects when increasing dose? Any advice would be great. New to this forum x

Venlafaxine Worries
No side effects for me but kept active by walking to keep weight down and saw dietician for a diet that was tailored to me. Each body is different so its good to be awRe of possible side effects without being too anxious. Good luck with new doseage

Dont worry man. I have been on venlafaxine for 8 years now. Lower and higher doses at times. Finally im weaning off (hope its not hell). The one advice i can give you with this good -yet crappy- drug is to excercise. If your concern is libido related try weights and eating well, trust me it will boost your testosterone and the problem will go away.
Cheers and good luck!
