Hello Casper, I read that you are pregnant, firstly congratulations and I wish every happiness for you and your little one.

As you have only just started this drug it is too early to say that the problems you are experiencing are down to this medication. Have you experienced panic attacks before in your pregnancy or dizzy spells? It maybe down to the hormone levels or any number of unrelated issues with out it being due to the medication. Discussing it with your GP or the pharmacist may allay your fears.

There are a few related posts on your screen if you wish to have a look for further reassurances also are there any members who can help this member please?

Anyway good luck for the future, please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. A new baby is always exciting news.

I'd say it's too soon for them to be side effects of the meds x

Hi Casper,

I've been taking Sertraline for almost a year now. The symptoms you describe are almost certainly not from taking one dose.

My GP told me that any benefits or side-effects won't be noticeable for 3-4 weeks after taking a regular dose.

Whilst I'm in actually no way an expert I would suggest that your thoughts are purely psychological - maybe a relief from starting treatment for something that's been going on for some time.

A friend of mine was prescribed Sertraline - his doctor told him in no uncertain terms not to read the leaflet about side-effects because you will develop them.

Stick with the pills, give it a month and see your GP if you have concerns.

I wish you all the best.
