Depression is tearing me and my life and my family’s life apart. It started off at school and fed by a serious of events over the last 8 years notably recently when I fell in love with a girl and she rejected me. I feel so empty inside. I work full time and have a son who is really the only reason I am here. I am taking fluorite but the anguish and the stamptims are unbearable. There’s seems no hole of it getting any better 😪.

Hi, Sorry to hear you are feeling like this. I felt like there was no hope of me feeling better when I was at my lowest but with sheer stubbornness and determination I am getting there. So what else are you doing other than the medication? I did some Stress Control classes, computerised CBT training and saw a psychologist. I also made changes to my diet and exercise as well.

The turning point for me was when I sorted out my sleep patterns. I have revamped my bedroom following advise I have gotten on a few of the course I have done and I no longer have any electronic devises in my bedroom. I removed all the clutter and now my bedroom is just for sleeping in. I went through various methods of what to do if you can't sleep, but mainly I'd get up and go read a book and only go back to bed when I felt like I would go to sleep.

I had to work on what to do with all the thoughts going round in my head. Journalling and writing notes helped with that. I also tried an aromatherapy diffuser and various essential oils along with meditation and relaxation exercises. I eventually found the ones that worked for me. Getting more sleep and eating healthier meant I had more energy to be able to work on the anxiety control and coping strategies.

I still have a lot of work to do but things are looking up. I still get lows, but can handle then better now.

I hope some of this helps you.
