Reducing medication

I have recently reduced my medication to 10mg. The symptoms are horrendous with severe headaches, I'm keeping calm as I'm aware it maybe something I will need to endure. I'm on my third day today, I have to constantly keep telling myself I can do this.

Ihope you are doing this with your Doctor's help. There are several things to consider...the drug, how long you've been on it and probably more. Some drugs stay in your system longer than others and day 3 isn't very far into it. Consider calling your Doctor. Pam

I have been advised by my GP to continue with the new dose for at least two months to notice any changes. I had come to this decision a per wish, but with everything 👏 falling into place. I wanted to try and motivate myself to get through this.

Good morning su_mun, well done firstly for trying to do this and secondly give yourself a well earned pat on the back because you are on day 3 and really trying. The saying goes - Rome wasn't built in a day. Don't beat yourself up, just one day at a time. Consider speaking with your Health Professional if you are finding it really difficult with the side effects. They can guide you as they know your medical history and are the best to advise.

Please let us know how you are doing and I am sure the other members will try and support you.

Has anyone who has done this be of help to su_mun please.

Stay safe and our good luck whishes are with you.

MAS Nurse.

Hi su_mun

Well yeah .. as it goes I have had to suffer massive withdrawals a few years ago from more than one type of medication ... I reduced them down a bit but then stopped the lot !

Don't in any way recommend this .. Ended up having a breakdown.

If you are controlling the reduction in meds along side your GP and/ or Support Team then that is ok and you are doing what is right for you .

Of course I don't know your condition or type of meds you have cut down and that is not my business but if you can continue and persevere with your intent then am sure you will be happy in time.

If how ever your symptoms return or you begin to feel that you are unable to cope then I strongly recommend you seeking advice from the professionals .

Happy to talk xx
