Hi I'm Billie-Jo I'm 16 years old and I suffer from mental health

I'm currently living in care ever since I was 14 years old. I opened up about something that happened to me and it ended badly so I was placed in care then I had a mental breakdown and over dosed and got moved around England.

I self-harm I've been doing this for 5 years and I've wanted to end my life ever since I was 6 years old

I struggle with eating I havnt eaten properly for about 2 weeks.

I dropped out of school when I was in year 9 then got kicked out of 3 colleges

I smoke weed and I drink I'm constantly in trouble with police and in and out of hospitals I've ran in and out of roads when police was on fast response and had to stop me from killing myself.

I've currently been depressed for about 3 weeks now I'm struggling to cope

Hi there, before you can begin to address your mental health problems you need to tackle your substance abuse by seeking support from drug and alcohol services. Both alcohol and drugs aggravate depression, as I'm sure you already know! Please reach out for specialist support and take care. Wishing you all the best...

Hi Billejoe,

Welcome to this supportive community. We are here for you. We hear you. What you have been through in your young age is more than many go through in a lifetime! The fact that you are brave enough to reach out for help here shows that you want to change, you want something better than life has thrown at you, and that you are a strong person, even though you may not feel like it. As you have found the folks here do understand and empathise and will offer great advice. I support what has been said about you seeking professional help to deal with your substance abuse, as well as your mental health problems. There should be a local Drugs and Alcohol abuse service that you can access. Chat with your GP about how you are feeling and they should be able to refer you to the appropriate support.

Also, keep our Crisis helpline numbers handy ( see Pinned posts):

In the UK it is the Samaritans 116 126 (24 hours helpline).

Also check out Childline, which is for the under 19 years and has a lot of very helpful information as well as a crisis line and 1-2-1 counselling.

0800 1111 (24 hours helpline) childline.org.uk/about/abou...

Info on drugs and alcohol use: childline.org.uk/info-advic...

Above all stay safe. We can provide moral support, but we are not substitute for professional medical advice and help.

Keep in touch, you are not alone.

You need to get substance abuse sorted, as this really affects your mood, I am hoping you are gettin specialist support, as you are under age of 18, it feels like you have had things tough, but it can get better, it does take will, power, good luck, and stay on here, it’s fabulous for support. Just off loading really helps.

Hi Billie Jo Just reading your Post My heart Breaks for you. You are so sad, Why? Have you ever been asked this question? your so young to be feeling this way and for such a long time as well. I agree you need to stop the drugs hun, because its not helping you at all, so firstly you need to get someone to help you with this as soon as possible and im sure you will see a big difference, and i know i expect your taking the drugs to numb all the pain away, but you have to address the pain to get yourself better Your so young you have your whole life ahead of you, you have a real chance of a good life hun, you just got to get out there and grab it. Dont let Depression win, its not worth it, honestly it isnt. I have suffered for 26 years and at the moment im controlling the depression its not controlling me... Its hard i know, i use to self harm but i got help and now i dont.. I took all the help i was offered and something inside of me clicked that said " Im worth living" and that was my turning point and I need you to find this inside of you too, because you are worthy of living, you are a beautiful person with a good heart, we all make mistakes but its what we do from now that matters, so please Billie Jo you can do this I believe in you.... Im here if you want to talk Take care xxx

BillieJo , I think you were very brave and sensible to Post so honestly and maturely about your problems.

You can conquer this and the fact that you are young means that you have time to make sure you have a good life. You are important so learn to value yourself. DRugs etc are self destructive and will get you nowhere only trouble

What would you like to do with your life?. . Set small goals and you will get there, so dont give up on yourself . Take all the support and help you can, and get support from us too,

Hannah
