I've got a dr's appt soon ... basically I'm gonna be asked if my Prozac has been working. I'm a little nervous bc I don't know for sure if my 20mg is still working. I still feel suicidal, just not extremely. I mean today I don't think I would care if I died. Should I tell my dr that's how I feel? I don't know what all to say.

Dr's Appt
Yes tell him they can increase the dose if needs be. If meds working then suicidal thoughts should be very rare. He might do a mood questionnaire to assess mood over last two weeks. Better to be honest than pretend ok when it's not- you've maybe done that too much in your life before.
Take care
Definitely inform your doctor. It maybe the medication is helping but maybe there is something else. A mood diary may help, as it can help to see if there are any patterns, time of day, something that triggers the suicidal thoughts. Be honest and that way the right help can be given. Being protective of what you say, may result in insufficient help being suggested.
Say exactly what you've said here. Pam
Hi Minileah 1218, As other forum members have said, it is best to be honest about how you are feeling then medication can be prescribed accordingly. A mood diary is a good idea, so that any triggers can be identified. If you are feeling suicidal, please see the pinned post [opposite] which provides details of crisis support helplines for both in and out of the UK. Please keep posting on the forum. You are not alone. I hope you will soon be feeling better. Best wishes.
Tell your doctor the truth. That's always the best way. If you don't tell him s/he can't help you. x
