Hi all

I joined here quite a while ago but haven't had the courage to post anything.

I've chronic depression, anxiety, insomnia & bad hallucinations 😒

I'm really finding life hard & just keep deteriorating. I've currently got the Home Treatment Team coming in regularly & I'm on antidepressants, anti psychotics & sleeping tablets. I see a psychiatrist & have a support worker. Feeling deep despair as if I'm never going to get better & I've isolated myself as a result of how poorly I am. Is my mental health ever going to improve? Everything is sooooo over whelming & I even struggle to function doing everyday tasks from self care to simply making a drink πŸ˜•

Any help & advice would be much appreciated ...

kind Regards

Maria 😭😭😭

Hi Maria and welcome.

I'm so glad you found the courage to post here, well done ! It can be daunting at first what to write etc,

I'm sorry to hear of your struggles.

We do heal and things improve, for me it felt like it wasn't happening quickly enough, because it does take time. Small steps achieve big things though and slowly you will notice improvement.

It's good to see you have lots of things in place to begin to help the healing process. 😊

I hope you can come here and feel support too, people here will understand.

We are all quite individual on our journey, but we all understand the emotions and struggles of it.try to be kind to yourself and not too hard,

Sending good wishes your way.

Hello Maria,

I don't have a lot of advice apart from maybe doing one little thing at a time. It doesn't matter how insignificant you may think it is, keeping going and not stopping is the key.

I am struggling with normal things too. I have to force myself out at the moment ☹️

Try and be positive, you sound like you have a good support network helping you. It will pass.

Best wishes πŸ’—

Hi maria welcome ive been in this group for sometime just not posted anything for a long time ! Your doing all the right things to get help with your depression, anxiety and insomnia it is a struggle with which you need to seek the right help which you are doing ! Ive had anxiety, depression and other health problem amongst which is cronic insomnia i take a lot of medication which helps when i remember to take it ! Please take care and i wish you all the best !

You have the Team BLUE, use it they are there to help you and your condition, Learn to use their help and encouragement. They will give you coping coping skills

Most patients with help will recover and live their lives with no further problems

Others may have flares at different times of their lives.

The last group of suffers will need treatment for the rest of their lives, this is the least common condition.

We also need to try and consider our own actions and understand sometimes we all can be wrong.

Depression can also make us Self Centered we need to learn how to drag ourselves out of this as the people around us will walk away and you could loose that support.

Give and Take

A big thank you to each one of you that has replied to my first post on here.

Really appreciated the responses. It's good to hear/read others thoughts especially as I'm feeling really isolated at the moment.

Hopefully I'll now have the courage to post again & chat a bit instead of just reading through posts.

Many Thanks πŸ™‚

Hi Blu80

Baby steps. Try and do one thing a day that you used to enjoy, however tiny (listen to a piece of music, smell some flowers, watch 10 minutes of a comedy programme). And post in this forum every day too, even if you haven't got anything particularly new to say. There's nothing like the warmth of an understanding community to help you through the really hard times.
