Hello everyone, my name is David and I'm a Military Veteran suffering from Depression, Stress, Anxiety; or as labelled, PTSD, and I must add one of the lucky ones to be currently undergoing Veterans CBT.

I look forward to meeting some of you as the days and weeks go by.

Regards

David

Hello David, I'm a bit alarmed that you have to be lucky to get CBT therapy, having served your country which includes all of us on the forum. One would like to think that everyone who is suffering PTSD as a result of military service would be offered couselling, CBT and all the first class medical support that could be provided.

I could never have served in the forces and would probably dislike many of the aspects of military service but anyone who does serve has my admiration and gratitude.

I wish you well and hope that the Veterans CBT plus help from the medical services we all receive see you overcome any trauma you've experienced.

Hi Olderal,

Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated and your kind words.

To put it into real context, I feel lucky because I'm off the waiting list and being supported by a wonderful Veterans network, unfortunately for many the waiting time even for Veterans is running at 6 - 7 months. I'm also lucky because I was not referred as a civvy whom currently wait where I live 15 months from referral to access CBT. Government promise so much on Mental Health but deliver only words not deeds.

Kind Regards
