I always find Sundays the worse day for depression . I tend to spend Sundays alone just watching TV and worrying about work on Monday and what the week will be like .
Does anyone else find Sundays difficult?
It's that period of when loneliness reminds me it's there and the fear and anxiety of another working week.
My heart thumps heavy on a Sunday..

Hi Gazza, for me it's usually on a morning when I wake up!! Everyday is a battle for one reason or another. I have to focus!! On being positive!! I talk to myself in the car all the way to work!!! Giving myself a pep talk!! Distraction too from my thoughts is often needed.im sorry you feel lonely too!! It's very rare I do because I don't allow myself.unless people have walked in our shoes then they can't understand what it's like!! you'll get through it though because that's just what we do 👍🙏🏻
Blue Monday,Stormy Monday,I hate Mondays, etc the song writers say it all but you are right ,its Sunday, especially Sunday evenings that are the worst. Once you actually start on the Monday its usually not so bad as you thought it might be.
Like most things the thinking about it is worse than it usually turns out to be, or to put it a bit more poshly the anticipation is usually worse than the actuality. All governments and large employers would like to cut Monday absenteeism. but it still exists. and i'm no wiser than they are on how to tackle it.
I suppose you just have to keep reminding yourself over and over its never as bad as you think its going to be,you've done it so many times. The other alternative is to find a job you love so much you look forward to Monday morning. They do exist although of course they vary depending on the person. Not easy.
And of course its all worse with depression but your depression will pass. I hope that's soon for you and the w/e including Sunday return to the pleasant recuperation period its meant to be.
It might help a little bit to remind yourself thats its only in the last 80 or so years that workers got two W/e days off work and also that many in managerial jobs have to often start the week's work at home on Sunday evening just to keep up with the pace.

Hi I think you need some distraction on a Sunday to stop you thinking so much about it. Do you have a friend you could go for a coffee with? Or someone to go to the pub? There are usually shops open on a Sunday so how about popping into town?
I hated my last job and too many weekends were ruined by the thought of having to go back in, especially on Mondays. Working with depression is harder for us than most people and it takes more energy to cope with it. x
I hate Sundays - to be exact Sunday evenings too, even though I don't have a job from 8 to 5 in the office and I don't work on Mondays , but somehow the feeling of the new working week upsets me.. Maybe because I have a son at school and I need to do all the preparation work for the coming week - really don't figure out why Sunday evenings are so bad for me..
