I am lost and tired. I just want it all to end. I'm tired of waking up feeling lost and alone everyday. And the feeling of being out of place or a burden to others where ever I go. 10 long years and I feel I'm reaching the end of my road and it scares me.

Just want it to end
hi Graham, I am sorry that you are feeling that way.
have you been offered any counselling? I found cbt helpful.
I know many people find mindfulness useful, you can find examples on the net.
sincerely,
hamble.
I know how you feel, Graham, I was diagnosed with Depression 30 years ago and usually something happens and down I go. When I'm down, I just dont want to be here, and feel just like you. But I do try and hold memories of things that I laughed at, I've pictures on my IPad of my dogs and my new granddaughter and when low, I make my self look at them. Do you have any pictures or jokes that once made you laugh or smile, it could be anything. I have one memory of one of my dogs that ran across the lawn to chase a bird and ran straight into a mesh fence. She wasn't hurt, but boy did we all scream with laughter.
Memories can lift you.
Keep in touch with us here. We are all in similar coloured boats.

Graham . you seem to be living just 5 miles from me so you are in a beautiful part of the world. Getting outside and walking can be so good for mood its been shown. On days when I can physically manage it it helps lift me from despondency for a while
Graham - if you feel ok to do so, please tell us more about why you feel out of place and a burden to others. Depression has an ingenious, insidious way of grabbing hold to how a person see themselves in reltionship to the rest of the world.
