It’s been an horrendous night and I seem to be running around like a headless chicken at the moment.

But just read the new postings and silke’s sharing of the link on youtube for compassionate focus theory. Now enjoying listening, so thank you x

i wish you didn't feel guilty, theres absolutly no reason to, but I understand just what you say, I am also riddled with it.

thanks for the link, I'll have a look later if my head clears a bit. still looking at the CFT and feeling sad that I had a bit of a disfunctional family but it wasn't their fault, so i must do something about these feelings, or it will be me that distroys myslef!

Hi Monib try not to stress or feel bad about your family. Remember

The saying

" All families are the same in that they are dysfunctional"

My family are the same I rarely see them .One sister lives in the same City

Haven't seen her for over a year. Haven't spoken to her either. She is a very

Happily married person with three grown up children. She is a school

Principal and has a great life with a Summer home in France. I wish

I was closer to them, but my Depression isolated me and I think they

Just cannot cope with it. I know they all have busy lives and careers . When

I look at my family objectively, I feel a failure and I'm not sure why.

So Monib try to accept your family situation. It is as it as.

Take care of you and try and focus on yourself.

Hugs

Hannah

Thanks Hannah, I think I accept them and am happy not to be part of the family any more, as I spent 18yrs not even hearing from them it's now easy to just say hello at Christmas.

What I feel I do need to address is maybe things that happened in the past so that I don't stop hurting myself with the memories.

I'm working on it xxx

Just finished part 4 of the Paul Gilbert workshop on youtube, wow think that has just turned my weekend around and now I am trying to think of a work plan for the week ahead whilst reading one of his books.

I have even managed to get in the garden inbetween watching and cut the lawn! it feels so good to have done something for a change and I can keep glancing out at my good work!

I am so pleased this is helping you Monib. I have found Paul Gilbert's talks on Compassion Focussed therapy SO helpful myself X

Wow Moni you are now studying his workshops? Wow.. Next thing you'll put up a post that you have graduated from Stanford online :-)

I don't want to bombard you with links as you are now busy listening to Gilbert, but maybe for later when you want to go to bed:

in reply toSLSL

Thanks Silke, I am thoroughly exhausted now, but feeling so much better than twelve hours ago! I think it also helped that I haven't taken another Sertraline since yesterday morning and slowly there side effects should go away. They can help so many, but I don't think I was one of them and they ended up preventing me to even do things that I know would help a little.

I have had only have a few hours sleep, so now will try once last time to practice a piece of music that I need for next week and then off to see if I can try sleep without trashing my bed again!

sweet dreams to all xxxx
