Hitting the bottom.

I separated from my husband end October, when he moved out to stay with friends and moved into his rented flat beginning of December. After a lot of back and forth he eventually ended it 4 weeks ago. We put some distance between us in the beginning of the 4 weeks then we seemed to get closer then now he's detached again. I feel so hurt and low.. We were married for 6 years together for 12 year. I miss his friendship more than anything...just wish he would see a tiny glimmer of hope for us.

I think he may well have... But he did promise me he would tell me if he did... His phones been off since yesterday morning. He's being very selfish. He was meant to have ours sons for 3 nights this week said he was bringing them back after one night...the reasons were. One evening he wanted to visit his dad who has just been diagnosed with cancer and the next day he had counselling and wanted to be alone after it...

Being 'left' is so much harder than being the one who walked away, even though people will tell you otherwise. You're filled with unanswered questions. This is going to sound cruel, but you're at risk of really hurting yourself if you try to maintain regular contact if he doesn't want to. The process of grieving after a relationship breakdown is a long and painful one, but it has to begin somewhere. From my experience, your only chance of staying as friends is to let things end properly. Don't let contact with the kids be your reason to see him. Let the dust settle for a few weeks and let him get in touch when he's ready. You have a lot of adjustments to make to your life now x
