My husband is chronically depressed. Private funding has ceased. He has had 2 hospital stays & 18mths couns - on downward spiral again-help!
Hello
May I ask is your husband at any risk at this time??
If this is the case you can phone NHS Direct tel 111.
You say that he was admitted on two occasions, and He has had 18 months talking therapy
If you are very concerned He can be volunteered to be taken into care. The first action regarding this is to phone the above number and they will possibly send out the crisis team to see your husband, generally there are three CPN who will decide on the right course of action to take.
With regard to your Private Treatment are you UK Nationals ?
Mental Health is normally treated under NHS.
Have you given any medical notes to your GP as this will assist him in understanding your husbands needs.
I hope you get some satisfaction for your husband soon the Mental Health system is very busy at the moment and getting an appointment can take a time, your GP will assist with treatments until then
BOB
I think you're helping him by coming here and asking for support. What a kind and considerate thing to do.
I agree with Bob with regards getting emergency help if you feel he is in crisis. Otherwise a visit to his GP to make sure he hasn't slipped off any waiting lists might be useful.
And don't forget that you matter too. Too often when someone is ill, the focus becomes them and not the person who is affected by it. Are you looking after your own needs?
