When you talk about drugs do you mean anti-depressants or are you self medicating with other drugs?
In a previous post you mention the GP putting you on citalopram ... are you still taking that?
Lots of drugs can be addictive - which makes them really difficult to give up - though if you speak to your GP they may be able to refer you to some specialist help. If you are talking about anti-depressants then it would be a good idea to talk to your GP about that as it is not a good idea to try and give them up just like that.
Have you ever had any counselling or other talking therapies - just looking at your other posts it looks like you went through a lot about a year ago - following on from events many years earlier and your depression may be the result of coping strategies from that that mask the problem but don't actually make it go away.
As well as your GP there are organisations out there - that might be able to help.
I am in the process of bein re referred for counselling
And yes cannabis cocaine
I can't tell my gp as I'm a nurse
People get into drugs without ever intending to. You have no reason to be disgusted with yourself. It's one of those things. It must be really difficult not talking to your GP about how to get help. Is there a nearby charity that offers counselling / support? These can be useful and no one will contact your GP unless they feel there is a risk to someone (usually yourself).
Is there a confidential line you could contact through union or something?
It isn't going to be easy to come off the drugs you mention and you will definitely need support. It isn't just a question of will power - and you are probably well aware of that yourself.
May be something like this might help
Thank you it feels so good to talk to someone I'm so alone
hi miserables, i know how it feels to be completely alone, it's a very cold place to be.
please know you shouldn't feel disgusted with yourself, anyone can end up doing anything given certain circumstances. There is no judgement here.
big hugs
Nikki
Evening miserableness,
I can understand your feeling of disgust in taking drugs. But as you say you like the feeling the drugs give you. That is where the problem is. I took drugs as I liked the feeling they gave me as well. An addiction can creep up on you before you know it then it becomes a problem.
When you say you don't want to tell your GP as you are a nurse I can understand that. But there are a lot of other agencies you can go to that are confidential . And you would be surprised as to how many health professionals use drugs.

Try not to be hard on yourself. Depression makes us do and think all sorts of things that before we never thought we would.
There are lots of other options besides GPs. This link - ukna.org/na-helpline-uk - has the helpline number for UK Narcotics Anonymous. Hope that's helpful
Thank u for all messages of support. For the idiot who called me a druggie I do not work at the moment hence putting no one in danger. Idiot. Don't judge if u don't no all the facts no one is here for that
