Tried to get an appt. with my GP

Tried to get an appt. to see my usual GP was told it would be about 6 weeks, she will speak to me on the phone sometime today

Sorry to hear about that - but good that she is going to ring you. Hope that it goes well - have you written down everything that you want to say and ask about - if not would be a good idea particularly as it is a phone conversation

that is so bad telling you you have to wait 6 weeks when it s known they have appointmenst available they just dont like giving them out.hope she does call you back and good luck.

6 weeks? That's outrageous! Don't you have a walk in surgery? Mine is walk in every morning, and appointments in the afternoons, which you have to wait about a week for!

Maise, my GP also appears to have a stupendous waiting list. I've learned a couple of tricks to expedite....

Call through to the duty doc and say "I've got a history of depression, I'm getting worse again, I will see anyone but I'm worried that I'm going to spend a lot of time explaining to anyone other than Dr X, my usual GP."

I got an appt with my GP in 24 hours. At the appt I said "I'm really worried if I try to book the review, it might be hard to see you, can you help me book it now?"

Which he did!
