everyone can have times like that, depressed or not mjs. you won't have been thefirst.

I found citalopram worked well for me, hope it does for you.

Citalopam works quite well for me (when I take my stubborn head off and accept that I need a stronger dose than 10mg!). As for wok and counselling, I've had this struggle too. Although it was a struggle that existed solely in my head because when I finally told my employers that I was going, they were brilliant! X

yeah up to now they've been ok , hadn't had time off though . I'm on 20mg as a starter , makes you feel a bit yucky !

Hi

I can understand you are feeling worried and starting counselling will temporarily increase your anxiety. You say you have had depression before and I wonder whether you have any ideas as to when you were first depressed. Often understanding when symptoms first developed can begin to lead to understanding where they come from and what caused them in the first place, and that can lead to understanding a more permanent solution. It may be that it is due to biochemical low levels of certain neurotransmitters in which case meds can help stabilise things but it may be that you carry low feelings with you from childhood in which case talking therapies may lead to a more helpful solution in the longer term.

If you feel you would like to write more about the last bout of depression and how it began I know people on the website will offer lots of helpful ideas that may enable you to begin to understand why you become depressed and that may lead to a better solution.

Hi there . Give yourself a chance on the Meds. They take a while to kick in, you will get used to them. Try and look after yourself well by sleeping well and eating well. I find exercise helps me to feel calmer. Was your Depression caused by anything particular . ? I think with Depression you really have to examine everything in your life. See the Counselling as positive and keep in touch.

Thanks Hannah , I think its been a build of things really , both work , why I imagine any probs I dont really know , no-one has put pressure on me , I do it to myself I think ! Then I feel a failure , no relaxation at home , just one thing after another , cant seem to want to mix with other people , always looking at the negative .
