Hi, I've been reading on several other communities on the website and notice this one is for Scotland - there is one called depression journeys for the UK. I wondered whether some of us might like to write on that one as well as this one - people on that community blog seem to get very few replies but are in need of our support. Sue
which community?: Hi, I've been reading... - Mental Health Sup...
which community?
Sue,
I can't find the one you refer to. The only one I could find is Depression Alliance and they want a subscription!!
I joined this one; there was no menion of it being for Scotland although the illness and symptons will be the same wherever you live I suppose!!
Hi, to find it you hover over 'my communities' above and then click on browse other communities and scroll down to depression - there are several. Suex
Would be good if there is a site like that , as I would love to chat to people more local too...always think it would perhaps be nice to meet and have coffee, and I guess more chance if closer.....will check..
Thanks
As with all online communities you can join any in any area of course. In terms of direct services that we provide we cover Scotland only, our sister organisation who we work closely with is on here and as mentioned is Journey's journeysonline.org.uk and our other sister organisation who is Depression Alliance covers England depressionalliance.org. They are not currently on HU, and I'm not sure if they have been asked. We were asked by HU to join and after talking to Journey's decided to give it a go as we have other online services.
Have a look at the Journey's website and see if there are some support groups you could join or find out about local meet ups? Journey's are a lovely group and they have a lot of great work going on too.
If you got to "About" Action on Depression you'll find out what we're about

Hi looked at Journey's and it seems to be a Welsh group. Do they have a general UK one please? Couldn't find one.

I couldn't think of anything worse than meeting someone as miserable as me for coffee. I like the anonymity of speaking to people who I'm never going to meet. The thought of discovering that someone with whom I've shared my darkest secrets is actually a Mum at the school, terrifies me.
